Fishdle

Fishdle is a daily fish identification game where the player has to determine a mystery species from its silhouette and comparison clues. There is no story, character campaign, or traditional sequence of levels. In Classic mode, the player gets six attempts to identify the fish. After every incorrect guess, the game compares characteristics of the submitted species with the correct answer and shows whether specific traits match, are close, or are different.

Fishdle is a daily fish identification game where the player has to determine a mystery species from its silhouette and comparison clues. After every incorrect guess, the game compares characteristics of the submitted species with the correct answer and shows whether specific traits match, are close, or are different.

Identifying the Daily Fish

The main puzzle starts with a fish silhouette and a limited amount of information. The player types a common or scientific fish name and selects a valid result from the suggestions. Each guess provides more information about the mystery species, helping narrow the possibilities. Hints can also be revealed when needed, but using fewer guesses and fewer hints produces a better score. After the correct fish is found, the game shows additional information about that species.

Modes and Progress

Fishdle contains several activities built around fish and underwater environments:

·         Classic, where the player identifies the daily fish in six guesses;

·         Reef Keeper, where fish species are discovered while developing a reef;

·         Abyss Run, where the player pilots a submarine through connected rooms;

·         Fish Tide, where smaller fish can be eaten while larger predators must be avoided;

·         Practice for additional identification puzzles;

·         Archive for previous Classic daily challenges;

·         Fishdex for tracking species that have already been discovered.

Abyss Run differs from the word-based Classic mode. The player controls a research submarine in real time, moves through a sequence of rooms, fires Research Pulses, avoids enemy attacks, collects relics, and chooses upgrades during a run. Research carried during the expedition can be lost, so reaching an extraction room allows it to be saved for permanent progression.

How to Play

In Classic mode, the best approach is to study the silhouette first and pay attention to body shape, fins, head structure, relative size, and other visible characteristics. After the first guess, the comparison feedback can be used to eliminate species that do not share the same traits. The player continues until the mystery fish is identified or all six attempts are used.

Fishdle does not use one single level structure across all modes. Classic is divided into independent daily puzzles, Reef Keeper focuses on developing a habitat and discovering species, Fish Tide uses survival and growth mechanics, and Abyss Run uses branching rooms and submarine combat. The shared theme is fish identification and discovery, but each mode approaches it through a different type of gameplay.
