Filling the Ranking

Answers can be submitted in any order. If an entry is correct, the game automatically places it in its proper position on the top-ten list, so the player does not need to know its exact rank before typing it. This means an answer that belongs in seventh place can be entered before the first-place answer. Wrong guesses cost one heart, while already submitted answers do not normally remove another life.

Hearts and Hints

Each puzzle gives the player five hearts and a limited hint system. The main gameplay includes:

·         typing possible answers into the input field;

·         filling all ten positions in the ranking;

·         losing one heart for an incorrect guess;

·         selecting a missing row to request a clue;

·         revealing the first letter or letters of an answer;

·         using a stronger hint to complete a difficult entry;

·         finishing the list before all five hearts are gone.

Hints are divided into several stages, so the player can decide how much help is needed. A light hint may only give a clue, while a stronger one can reveal part of the answer or fill it automatically. Using hints makes difficult lists easier to finish, but it also shows which entries were solved with assistance.

Daily and Unlimited Play

The main Daily Tens puzzle gives the same ranked list to all players for that day. After the puzzle ends, the completed ranking is revealed together with information explaining what the list is based on. An archive allows earlier puzzles to be played again, while Unlimited mode selects additional lists and lets the player continue with the same ten-answer format.

To play Daily Tens, the player reads the category, thinks of likely members of the top ten, and submits them one by one. Correct entries gradually reveal the structure of the list and can make the remaining answers easier to identify. The game ends when all ten positions are filled or when the player loses all five hearts. There are no traditional levels; each ranked list functions as a separate puzzle.
